Membership
The Woman's Club supports, promotes, and attempts to bring about an environment where all persons regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex or sexual orientation, age or physical condition will have equal opportunity to participate in the life and goals of The Woman's Club of San Antonio.
We appreciate your interest in The Woman's Club of San Antonio. We hope that you will join us. Our general membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from October to June at the Woodward House. At these meetings, we discuss upcoming events, club business and enjoy interesting programs followed by a delicious lunch. Summer luncheons and programs are held on the third Wednesdays in June, July, and August. Our fall luncheon is held in September at a Country Club and includes a fun and festive program and lunch. Smaller groups called Round Tables gather every month. These groups focus on a variety of interests and offer a great opportunity to make new friends in a more intimate setting. One of the many round tables meets in the evening.
Following the Fall Luncheon, the club members begin preparation for our "Christmas Faire". We bake and prepare gingerbread houses to be sold, and the house is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Decorating starts during the weekend after Thanksgiving. The Christmas Faire is open to the public and its success is possible through the efforts of many volunteers. It is a three day event with lunch served each day. Approximately thirty vendors occupy the second floor, selling their goods, and The Woman's Club boutique is held in the Gold Room on the first floor. This is a festive affair which puts everyone in the Christmas spirit and provides a wonderful opportunity to shop for unique and beautiful gifts.
The city-wide celebration of Fiesta brings about many activities at The Woman's Club. We enjoy participation in the River Parade, our Fiesta Teen Queen Coronation and a reception for all Fiesta royalty, a two-day Fiesta Flower Show, the ever-popular Fiesta Hat Contest and Luncheon, the Battle of Flowers Parade, and the Pilgrimage to the Alamo.
An application for membership can be made to The Woman's Club of San Antonio after the prospective member has attended a General Membership Meeting and luncheon as the guest of a member. The application must be endorsed by three members in good standing, one of which will provide a letter of endorsement.
An applicant for membership from an out-of-town Federated Club may be admitted to membership.
